Red Lobster® Cheddar Bay Biscuits

Each time when I arrive at Red Lobster with my empty stomach, the mouth-watering cheddar bay biscuits is always the one I am expecting. They are so soft, cheesy, a little garlic, a little buttery, and a little clue of some misterious Italian or French spices. Eaten warm from the oven, those cheddar biscuits are worth every decadent calorie. It is those biscuits that make the seafood dinner somewhat different.

In the following recipe, I suggest that you substitue the all-purpose flour with the pancake mix, like Bisquick®, to achieve better and consistant flavor. Believe me, they are so good!

Ingredients

Original recipe yields 6 servings

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup shredded Cheddar cheese
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ⅔ cup milk
  • ⅓ cup butter
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter

Instructions

Step 1
Preheat oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C). Butter a baking sheet.

Step 2
Combine flour, Cheddar cheese, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder in a bowl.

Step 3
Combine milk, 1/3 cup butter, and egg in a separate bowl. Mix into the flour mixture until chunky; be careful not to over-mix the batter.

Step 4
Drop batter by tablespoonfuls onto the prepared baking sheet.

Step 5
Bake in the preheated oven for 10 minutes. Brush melted butter on top and continue baking until golden brown, about 5 minutes more.
