Conferences And Talks

Academic conferences are an integral part of the scientific community. Such conferences are a platform for researchers to share their most recent findings with their peers and to encourage a healthy discussion between researches from a variety of backgrounds and fields of study. Due to the nature of our research, we regularly attend international conferences like TMS, MS&T, C-MRS, etc. Our group has served as organizers and co-organizers for several conferences and worked as guest editors of the conference special issues in Journal of Electronic Materials, JOM, etc.

The current status of the development of waste printed circuit boards recycling in China

    14:05 pm
    Location: Online, University College Dublin

The current status of development of waste printed circuit boards (WPCBs) recycling including both policy and technology aspects in China were introduced. The development trend of WPCBs recycling policy such as extended producer responsibility system is involved at first. The presentation will also briefly review the intelligent dismantling & sorting technology and three main WPCBs recycling techniques in China which are collaborative smelting technology, low temperature pyrolysis and hydrometallurgy.

IMC Evolution as a Function of Grain Orientation under High Current Density in Sn-based Solder Joints

    8:00 am
Location: Oregon Convention Center, Portland, USA

Cu6Sn5 and AuSn4 in SAC305 solder joints exhibited significant growth and polarization under current stressing along a path close to Sn grain orientation (represented by c-axis) that forms an acute angle with electron flow direction. Indium tended to prioritize its IMC formation with Au. Its slower diffusivity in Sn minimized the polarization and significant growth of IMCs as compare to the Cu-containing solder or substrates with sufficient Cu supply.

Laser–MIG Hybrid Welding of AlSi10Mg Parts Produced by Selective Laser Melting

    8:40 am
Location: Oregon Convention Center, Portland, USA

Decreasing energy inputs greatly refines the grains of α-Al phases in the weld metal of laser–MIG hybrid welded joints on SLM AlSi10Mg with both 5E61 and ER4043 wires.
