BCBUU, Beijing — Business College of Beijing Union University has been awarded AACSB International accreditation, a distinction enjoyed by fewer than 6% of business schools worldwide, as appeared in the official website of AACSB.
Founded in 1978, the
Business College is striving to become a globally integrated business school
that is highly valued by the regional community. Upholding BUU’s motto,

core talent of business administration and to advance applied innovation and
research, in fulfilling our social responsibilities in regional social and
economic development,” after four decades of development, the College has become
an institution focusing on cultivation of talent in economics and management
fields serving the capital city, the nation, and the world.
Aiming to become of
globalized high-class business school through continuously improvement, the
College joined in AACSB international, applying the prestigious business
accreditation standards in its education process and management in 2013.

schools undergo a rigorous peer review to ensure their ability to provide a
future-focused business education. During the multiyear process, schools
develop and implement a plan that meets accreditation requirements.
“AACSB
accreditation recognizes institutions that have demonstrated a focus on
excellence in all areas, including teaching, research, curriculum development,
and student learning,” said Stephanie M. Bryant, executive vice president and
chief accreditation officer of AACSB. “We congratulate Business College,
Beijing Union University and Dean Jianbin Chen on earning accreditation,
and applaud the entire team—including the administration, faculty, staff, and
students—for their roles in earning this respected honor.”
“We are extremely pleased to learn that our Business College
has earned the AACSB international accreditation, which includes us to the top
5% of the business program in the world,” said Business College Dean Prof.
Jianbin Chen. “Earning this initial accreditation is not the end, but the
embarkment of a new phase of the journey. I would also like to take this
opportunity to express my sincere thanks to my fellow colleagues in the
Business College as well as those in the university community who have provided
selfless support to make this accreditation possible. This accreditation serves
not only as an acknowledgement of our teaching and learning excellence, but
also as a statement of our commitment to an ongoing improvement. We understand
what is ahead also requires that we continue to strive for excellence in
providing quality business education, research, and services to benefit the
capital city, the nation, and the world, while being focused on developing and
following an improved strategy that delivers on the vision and mission of both
the Business College to be a top business school and BUU as a pioneer
university.”
Synonymous with the highest standards
of quality, AACSB accreditation inspires new ways of thinking within business
education globally. As a result, less than 6 percent of the world's schools
offering business degree programs hold AACSB business accreditation. Through
today’s ratification, a total of 950 institutions across 59 countries
and territories have earned AACSB accreditation in business. Furthermore,
192 institutions maintain
supplemental AACSB accreditation for their accounting programs.
AACSB
accreditation ensures continuous improvement and provides focus for schools to
deliver on their mission, innovate, and drive impact. AACSB-accredited schools
have successfully undergone a rigorous review process conducted by their peers
in the business education community, ensuring that they have the resources,
credentials, and commitment needed to provide students with a first-rate,
future-focused business education.
"Business College, Beijing Union University’s commitment to earning
accreditation is a true reflection of their dedication—not only to their
students, alumni network, and greater business community, but to the higher
education industry as a whole,” said Bryant. “Today’s students are tomorrow’s
business leaders, and the addition of Business College, Beijing Union
University to the network of AACSB-accredited business schools will have a
lasting positive impact for their institution, both locally and globally.”
